Multivitamin Mania
Have you ever walked into a vitamin store or even the vitamin aisle at your local grocery store and a wave of anxiety hits you? Well it’s not an uncommon feeling. With so many multivitamins available you may find yourself asking how do I know which one will work for me? Which vitamin letter of the alphabet do I really need..A, B, C, D, E???

Here’s a vitamin breakdown that will help melt that anxiety away and set you straight on your path to healthy living..
- Vitamin D helps your bones.
- Vitamin A helps your eyes.
- Vitamin C helps your body heal.
- B Vitamins help your body make protein and the energy you need to workout.
- Vitamin C and the big group of B vitamins — B1 (thiamin), B2 (riboflavin), niacin, B6 (pyridoxine), folic acid, B12 (cobalamine), biotin, and pantothenic acid — are water soluble vitamins and need to be replaced often because they travel fast through your bloodstream.
Typically women should make sure their multivitamin has 400 micrograms (mcg) of folic acid. Folic acid helps make and maintain new cells. Pregnant women should take 600 mcg of folic acid daily, this is because folic acid reduces neural birth defects.
Premenopausal women need to look for a multivitamin with iron to replace the iron lost during mentruations, whereas menopausal women should do the opposite and go without the iron.
Always, always make sure to check with your doctor first if you are on any other medications.
And take your vitamins!
